TRAXMAN

Flying all the way from Chicago, TRAXMAN is a certified legend and makes the toughest, most soulful juke/footwork – he has been involved in the scene since the 1990s with releases on the legendary DANCE MANIA RECORDS. He now runs GETO DJZ and is one of the key members of the internationally renowned TEKLIFE. His album THE MIND OF TRAXMAN on PLANET MU breathed new life and soul into the genre and is arguably one of the most innovative footwork albums of all time. Itz crack, itz crack, itz crack *roc* … those who know, know.

FRACTAL FANTASY’S very own SINJIN HAWKE and ZORA JONES will perform a special 160BPM set showcasing their collaborations with footwork legends DJ RASHAD, DJ SPINN, JLIN, HEAVEE, GANT-MAN etc..

KΣITO (Live)
USI KUVO/SHINKARON Tokyo, Japan

KΣITO’S live set of absolutely mind-blowing 160 fingerdrumming chaos, is like watching ARAABMUZIK perform footwork on an MPC. One of the busiest djs in Tokyo, KΣITO runs USI KUVO, TYO GQOM and releases juke on SHINKARON Records – a man of many talents and deep knowledge of dance music culture.

ACE UP
SHINKARON – Tokyo, Japan

ACE-UP (FKA FRUITY) is the founder of SHINKARON records, one of the only Japanese producers experimenting with “FLIGHT FOOTWORK” a variation pioneered by DJ DIAMOND, DJ ROC and DJ MC (all of whom ACE UP has worked with and released). He is very active Tokyo’s scene, frequently djing footwork battles, and always paying respect to the originators in Chicago.

DJ APRIL
BOOTYTUNE – Tokyo, Japan

DJ APRIL is one of the longest supporters of juke/ghettotech in Japan, he started throwing parties in Yokohama in the late 00s and is a member of the BOOTYTUNE collective run by DJ FULLTONO. He frequently spins at open circles with ACE UP and the CREATION footwork crew.

Footwork music wouldn’t be complete without the dancers so we’ve invited the 3 most important Japanese footwork crews to dance at the event:

CREATION GLOBAL
CREATION GLOBAL is an international Footwork dance crew with over 70 members worldwide. Its japan chapter is lead by MIKI ISHIZAKA, who was BATTLE TRAIN TOKYO first official female winner, she has traveled as a teacher to London, Holland, Brazil, LA and South Korea. Other Japanese members of the crew include LIL G, YAMATO and BEN.

THE ERA
THE ERA is arguably the most well known footwork crew in the world, it’s founding members started off at the legendary “BATTLEGROUNDZ” in Southside Chicago and are now global icons. In 2014 Japans very own, WEEZY from Tokyo was invited be be a member, and he has since toured with TEKLIFE all over the globe.

PROPHECY
PROPHECY footwork crew is a prominent team in Japan, often competing in BATTLETRAIN, a regular footwork competition held in Tokyo. Standout members like JUNYA & TAKUYA are known to electrify the dance floor.

まるでARAABMUZIKがMPCでFOOTWORKを演奏する様な、160 FINGERDRUMMING カオスなKΣITOのライブセットが魅力。東京で最も多忙なDJの一人であるKΣITOはこれまで、USI KUVO、TYO GQOMを主宰し、SHINKARON RecordsからJUKEの楽曲をリリースしている。

ACE UP

ACE-UP (FKA FRUITY)は、DJ DIAMOND、DJ ROC、DJ MC (ACE-UPは全員とコラボレーションリリースを果たししている)によって開拓された “FLIGHT FOOTWORK “のバリエーションを試している唯一の日本人プロデューサーの一人であるSHINKARON recordsの創設者。シカゴのオリジネーターへのリスペクトを忘れず、FOOTWORK バトルを頻繁に行なっている。

BOOTYTUNE – Tokyo, Japan

00年代後半から横浜でパーティーを始め、DJ FULLTONOが主宰するBOOTYTUNEのメンバーでもある。ACE UPやCREATIONフットワーククルーと共にオープンサークルでも頻繁にスピンしている。

DANCERS:

FOOTWORKの音楽は、ダンサーなしでは完成しない。そこで、日本のFOOTWORKを代表する3組のクルーを招き、イベントで踊ってもらうことにした。

CREATION GLOBAL:
CREATION GLOBALは、全世界に70名以上のメンバーを擁する国際的なFOOTWORKダンスクルー。日本支部は、BATTLE TRAIN TOKYO初の公式女性優勝者であり、ロンドン、オランダ、ブラジル、LA、韓国で講師を務めた石坂美紀が率いる。他の日本人メンバーには、LIL G、YAMATO、BEN等。

THE ERA
THE ERAは、間違いなく世界で最も有名なFOOTWORKクルーであり、その創設メンバーはサウスサイド・シカゴの伝説的な “BATTLEGROUNDZ “からスタートし、今や世界的なアイコンとなっている。2014年には東京出身のWEEZYがメンバーとして招聘され、TEKLIFEと共に世界中でツアーを行っている。

PROPHECY FOOTWORK
PROPHECY FOOTWORKクルーは、東京で定期的に開催されているFOOTWORKの大会「BATTLETRAIN」に数多く出場している日本有数のチーム。JUNYA＆TAKUYA等、ダンスフロアを沸かせるメンバーが参加。
